Santa’s Post Office as 2024 Winter Village Set Revealed

LEGO has unveiled its latest addition to the Winter Village collection: ↳Santa’s Post Office (10339). This festive 1,440-piece set, priced at $99.99, features a charming post office where elves help Santa manage the North Pole’s holiday mail.

The standout feature?

A hot air balloon designed to collect letters to Santa. The set also includes festive details like sorting machines, postcards, and a mailbox adding a magical holiday feel to any Winter Village display.

While some fans have noted that the set feels simpler compared to past releases, the hot air balloon and holiday elements make it a fun seasonal addition.

The ↳40747 Santa's Delivery Truck, sold separately for $19.99, complements the post office for those looking to expand their holiday scene.

LEGO Fortnite Battle Bus Review

Reviews are in, and the verdict is clear—LEGO’s ↳Fortnite Battle Bus (77073) is living up to the hype.

At $99.99, the 954-piece set brings the iconic Fortnite vehicle to life, featuring a large balloon, detailed interior, and nine minifigures.

Here's the breakdown:

Pros:

  • Authentic Design: The Battle Bus is a standout build with attention to detail. Pipes, stickers, and lights add to its in-game accuracy .
  • Sturdy Construction: The bus has a durable design, especially the balloon’s arms, which are surprisingly stable when placed down.
  • Minifigure Variety: The set includes nine fan-favorite minifigures such as Peely, Meowscles, and Raven, all featuring unique prints and molds.
  • Playability: Removable roof and spacious interior enhance its playability, allowing for minifigure interaction.
  • Display Appeal: Beyond being fun to build, the Battle Bus works well as a display piece for both LEGO and Fortnite fans .
  • Straightforward Build: The build is considered relatively straightforward and enjoyable, with no overly complex techniques.

Cons:

  • Minifigure Quality: While the minifigures are generally well-received, some, like Trespasser Elite and Meowscles, use existing LEGO parts that don’t fully capture the in-game characters’ proportions or details
  • Sticker Dependency: Several details rely on stickers, which can be a downside for builders who prefer printed parts .
  • Price Considerations: While generally seen as fair for the piece count, some may feel the $99.99 price tag is steep compared to other sets in the same range.

The Fornite ↳Battle Bus 77073 is available on the LEGO store—don't forget to thank the bus driver!

LEGO Launches Brick Takeback Program for Pre-Loved Bricks

LEGO has introduced an initiative promoting sustainability through its ↳Brick Takeback Program. Time to clear out those old bricks collecting dust and turn them into something useful (like a LEGO e-Gift Card).

Here’s how it works: you send in your used, disassembled LEGO bricks in bulk, and for every pound of accepted bricks, LEGO issues a $6 e-Gift Card. Simply request a prepaid shipping label, pack up your bricks, and ship them to LEGO.

Once inspected and approved, you’ll receive the gift card via email.

The program excludes items like electronics, apparel, or damaged bricks and focuses on promoting the reuse and recycling of LEGO materials.

A win for the planet, a win for your wallet.

That's all for this edition, 'til next time!
